Stage One:
a. Equip the faculty with laptop computers and interactive presentation software.
b. Equip existing classrooms with video projectors for instructor computer playback.
c. Build one video production classroom to record the best instructors classes. These can later be developed into interactive DVD learning courseware.
Stage Two:
The second stage of the Computer Initiative is to supply a laptop computer with secure wireless access to each full-time student. This will ease the crowded study spaces and limited computer workstation access to make Serampore a virtual campus.
Stage Three: Construct the WCCC
The construction of the multi-story state-of-the-art William Carey Communication Center (WCCC) will house the expanded Theological Library, the distance learning training center, media production classrooms, a computer lab, and dorm rooms for short, intensive Leadership and Communications workshops.
The expanded communications department will teach audio and video production, editing and language translation, to produce interactive Distance Learning courses using computers, the Internet and DVD media.
